Yellow Dust Mask: The Shield We Use Today

Image result for yellow dust maskEvery morning, before I ride the bus to school, my mother always forces to wear a facial mask whenever we are exposed to outside air. Honestly, I first ignored her advice and always took them off not knowing what harm Korean fine dust can possibly bring to my health.

The Great Smog of London The Great Smog of London Before we dive deep into this crisis of Korea, let's look at a milder example that happened in London for a few days during December of 1952. The Great Smog of London was a very significant issue back in the days when air pollution was very severe. This lasted for five very cold days in the middle of winter. The smog is very harmful, killing 4,000 people at that time. Research states that this smog effect was very harmful towards the human respiratory system. It is estimated that 6,000 more people died in the aftermath of the smog due to this biological disaster. The cause of the smog was the continuous burning of coal. Woven vs. Nonwoven? An important factor of the materials research is to exactly know what type of resources were used to make the filtering system from the Korean-made yellow dust masks. In order to know more about this, I started to investigate the basic facts of what I think I should know about fabrics and textures used in clothes and filtering systems. The huge distinction between various clothes or filtering materials is to see if it is woven or nonwoven.
